“One size does not fit all: the development, and execution of, a tailored implementation approach to improve evidence-based patient blood management”

A mixed methods research study to identify the barriers and facilitators to implementing evidence-based patient blood management guidelines in Australia; and development of a toolkit to aid clinicians and healthcare facilities in their implementation.

Master of Nursing (USQ) – GPA of 6.13

This degree had a strong focus on leadership, management and clinical care improvement. It equipped me with skills to devise change management strategies to address management and leadership deficiencies and implement new clinical care interventions. As part of completing this course, I also was also required to possess and develop high-level ability in retrieving, appraising and synthesising evidence. This course also equipped me with entry-level skills to appraise and develop health policy, which I now put into practice during the course of my role as quality coordinator of blood management at Mater hospital.

Postgraduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (UTAS)–  GPA 6.0

The Postgraduate Certificate had a heavy educational focus requiring the development of a resource to address departmental learning needs. I created a comprehensive guide for beginning Neurosurgical Nurses to address a gap in learning needs and available resources.

Bachelor of Nursing (with distinction) (RN) 2013 –GPA 6.0

Diploma in Nursing (EEN)
